~~ Fauna & Faunette - Going to a Picnic ~~

We're going to a picnic at Gloria's house today and I'm so excited because Barb Jones will be there. I haven't seen her since the day I came here. I hope she remembers me. We're both sporting lace today. I hope that's what people wear to a picnic. I don't want to feel out of place. There will be lots of other women there, some from Victoria. The guys are staying home to look after the babies today.

Announcing the arrival of first born chick of Faunette & Spike, a little girl, named Ally after her Aunt Alice. She arrived during my baby shower, must have been the excitement and Faunette couldn't wait to see all the presents. Baby Ally is so tiny, we'll have to especially careful when she's around that she doesn't get stepped on.

Already she's in the carriage those funny Victoria ladies brought for her and covered with her cozy blanket. Now how did they know?

Well, I was right! I saw Spike and Faunette working on a nest and knew this was going to happen. Oh well, perhaps it's a good thing for Rico. He will have a playmate.

I guess Frederico and I will have to babysit the egg for them once in awhile so they can get away to eat. But this is taking the spotlight away from me. I don't know about that!

 Our baby has left the shell and is enjoying the carriage that Alice sent.
Frederico is still celebrating. I tried to pry the wine away from him but it wasn't budging.

 He insists that the baby be named after him, Frederico Jr., and he does look a lot like him so I gave in, but I call him Rico for short. He's much too little for a big name like Frederico Jr.

Heard the fantastic news from Jonesy and I am estactic. Congratulations Fauna & Fredrico, what a beautiful healthy bright pink little son you have!!! No wonder Daddy is celebrating..........

I didn't realize that the new chick was male - they all look alike to me!!! and it is wearing pink!and has a pink bottle and carriage maybe you didn't check closely enough and it is a 'frederica". he could get confused and be gay when he gets older LOL

IT'S A BOY!
Fauna & Frederico are proud to announce the hatching of their first baby, early
in the morning on January 1, 2011, weighing almost nothing, and is the cutest newborn you've ever seen!

Faunette & Spike assisted because Frederico had been doing too much celebrating.
Mother and baby doing fine. We may need some help in choosing a name for him.

"You're not going to believe what happened. I've laid an egg and for some reason Frederico seems to think he had something to do with it. He's fluffing up his feathers like he's got something to brag about.  I'm the one that laid the egg. Oh well, I like having him around so let him think that."





Hold onto your hats everyone. I think I've laid an egg and just when I was was having the time of my life with Frederico. Who knew this would happen! Wait until Hank & Donald in California hear about it.

Some birdies must have been whispering about me already, because a "friend" sent me a baby carriage and a message in the card said "First comes love, then come marriage, then comes Fauna with a baby carriage. Let me know when the egg hatches."  Lynne says it came from Florida, where Faunette came from. Those humans are always up to something.

But then Holly is partly to blame 'cause she brought me Frederico. I just hope Lynne is okay with it and I don't lose my job here because life is getting very interesting around this place.

I'm having the time of my life! Lynne was visited at the B&B by another Camper she called Holly. Holly came with friends but left without them. Meet Frederico, my new beau. He came courting with chocolates, wine & roses, all tucked in his wings for me. I melted at the sight of him. And check out Spike! He swooned over Faunette and she fluffed her feathers so coyly, he fell immediately. Frederico is so suave and handsome. Thanks Holly, you sure know how to pick them!



When Frederico looks up at me with those big eyes, I just want to crack open the wine and party. When will those humans go to bed and turn out the lights?

Alice, no one warned me how cold it gets up here in the North. Thanks for sending me the warm scarf and hat. Spike wants to curl up in it too. Isn't he just the cutest thing you every saw?

November 19, 2010 - "What's with all of these holidays? I know I'm from California but I wish Lynne wouldn't make me wear this silly hat for the US Thanksgiving. I'm in Canada now, and I'm a Diva. What's with these silly outfits. I pray she doesn't take me out, because people in Chemainus call me the Fashion Diva. They wouldn't understand this, but I guess I have to humor those American tourists that come to the B&B.

I'm so glad summer in the B&B is over so Lynne has time to pay me a some attention again. All work and no play makes Fauna a dull chick. Not that dressing up for Halloween is glamorous but it is a lot of fun. Faunette has a treat bag. Sure hope people understand what she wants when she says "tweet". Maybe she'll share with me.
